Organization

To promote ESG management in a systematic and consistent manner, KPC operates a dedicated ESG organization. KPC's ESG organization was established in 2021 as a committee under the board of directors and serves as a consultative and advisory body on company-wide ESG strategies and directions. In addition, by promoting cross-functional collaboration across key ESG areas such as supplier management, environment and labor, information management, social contribution, ethical management, and governance, it enhances the implementation and execution of organization‑wide ESG initiatives.

Environment

By systematically managing and minimizing environmental impacts that may arise throughout its operations and business activities, KPC promotes environmental management that balances environmental responsibility with economic sustainability. To this end, we continuously strengthen efforts to improve energy efficiency and reduce resource use
, and foster an eco-friendly organizational culture based on employee participation to enhance the effectiveness and implementation of environmental management.

Energy and Waste Management

To systematically manage environmental impacts from energy use and waste generation, KPC sets targets based on industry benchmarks and historical usage and emissions data and conducts regular
performance reviews. While continuing management activities to reduce energy consumption, we also monitor waste generation and apply management standards to reduce emissions in order to minimize our environmental footprint.

Human Rights

KPC promotes human rights management by respecting international standards such as the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and ILO international labor standards. We also operate a dedicated reporting system to prevent and manage human rights violations and ethical risks and have established an internal management system that strictly guarantees the anonymity and confidentiality of whistleblowers.

Health and Safety

Occupational accident rate by year

KPC is committed to safety and health management so that our employees can focus on their work in a safer and healthier work environment. Occupational accident incidence is managed using the accident rate (cases per 1,000 persons) as a key indicator to assess the overall safety level of the work environment. The scope of occupational accidents is defined in accordance with the Regulation on Industrial Accident Statistics Management and excludes personal illnesses, off-site accidents, and deaths occurring more than one year after the accident date.

Social Contribution

KPC is expanding social contribution activities based on employee participation and operates various social contribution programs to strengthen the capabilities of social enterprises and vulnerable groups.
To systematically promote the creation of social value, we established the Social Contribution Promotion Team in 2021 and are expanding our public role and advancing sustainable social contribution activities by comprehensively considering social issues, changes in the business environment, and internal and external impacts.

Governance

KPC's board of directors is structured with independence, expertise, and diversity to ensure responsible decision-making through effective oversight and checks on management activities. We also establish and operate committees under the board, such as the ESG Committee and the President Recommendation Committee, to deliberate on key management issues, advise on strategy formulation, and oversee management direction and performance.

Ethical Management

KPC has established decision-making principles and ethical judgment standards for practicing ethical management and systematically manages ethical risks through regular and ad-hoc inspections, including internal and external audits and reporting systems.
